We are a nonprofit sponsoring organization of the Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP). We empower qualified providers with the knowledge and support they need to serve nutritious meals and snacks to their participants.

Our mission is to support and empower child and adult care providers by ensuring access to nutritious meals through the Child and Adult Food Program (CACFP). Our Role as a CACFP Sponsor

We support child care homes and centers by ensuring they meet CACFP requirements and receive maximum benefits. Our services include:

  • Assisting providers in meeting program requirements to start receiving reimbursements.
  • Filing monthly claims on behalf of providers.
  • Ensuring timely payments through mailed checks or EFT deposits, with detailed reimbursement statements.
  • Monitoring compliance with CACFP guidelines to prevent disruptions in funding.

Ongoing Support for Providers

We are committed to helping providers succeed by offering:

  • Guidance on maximizing reimbursements through program updates and participant database management.
  • Personalized, one-on-one training at convenient times.
  • Periodic workshops that fulfill licensing training requirements.
  • A comprehensive handbook with procedures, nutrition guidelines, and meal-planning tips.

About CACFP

Who is Eligible to Participate?

  • Registered or licensed family childcare homes.
  • Licensed nonprofit daycare centers or those with a compliance letter from NC DHHS.
  • Licensed for-profit daycare centers with at least 25% of enrolled participants meeting USDA income eligibility guidelines.

How Does CACFP Work?

The Child and Adult Care Food Program (CACFP) provides reimbursements to participating centers, daycare homes, at-risk afterschool programs, and emergency shelters for serving nutritious meals to eligible participants. Administered federally by the USDA’s Food and Nutrition Services Branch, CACFP ensures access to healthy food for those in care.

Who Does CACFP Serve?

CACFP provides reimbursement for eligible facilities serving children up to age 12 and youth in at-risk afterschool programs. The program covers up to two meals and one snack, or one meal and two snacks, per day. In addition, certain adult day care centers may also qualify for participation.

To file a program discrimination complaint, a Complainant should complete a Form AD-3027, USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form , from any USDA office, by calling (866) 632-9992, or by writing a letter addressed to USDA. The letter must contain the complainant’s name, address, telephone number, and a written description of the alleged discriminatory action in sufficient detail to inform the Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights (ASCR) about the nature and date of an alleged civil rights violation. The completed AD-3027 form or letter must be submitted to USDA by:
